Open Role: Inventory Planning & Operations Manager

by James Madden

Inventory Planning & Operations Manager

Remote (Dublin-based) · 4/5 Day Week · Full-Time

The Opportunity

Swifter® is an independent fitness brand founded in Dublin, Ireland, by athletes James Madden and Nadia Power. Drawing from their personal experiences in sports, they have designed practical and stylish fitness essentials tailored for active individuals. Swifter® emphasises functionality and design, delivering products that enhance performance and confidence.

The brand's mission is to inspire and empower customers to pursue their best self.

The Role

  • Inventory forecasting across all SKUs and sales channels — Amazon USA, UK and Australia, Shopify and wholesale
  • Reorder planning and management: you'll run the process end to end and present recommendations for approval
  • Freight and shipping decisions (mode of transport timing, routing - always with cost and stock risk in mind)
  • Customs clearance documentation - preparing and managing all import paperwork accurately and on time
  • Amazon FBA shipment creation and inbound management - tracking check-ins and resolving issues proactively
  • Fulfilling retail orders in Dublin down at the warehouse
  • Retailer updates - communicating stock availability and delivery timelines to our wholesale accounts
  • Building and maintaining the systems and SOPs that keep all of this running - we don't have them yet, and that's part of the opportunity

Who You Are

  • You want to get involved with an early stage start up that enjoys a lot of responsibility and are willing to grow with the business. You will be hire number two (and are excited at that opportunity).
  • You are obsessively organised. Systems, checklists, spreadsheets
  • You think ahead. You're already planning the next order before the current one lands
  • You are proactive, not reactive - you surface issues before they become problems
  • You have experience in ecommerce logistics, supply chain or inventory management - Amazon FBA experience is a strong plus
  • You are very competent using AI
  • You're comfortable with data and spreadsheets and using new inventory mgt software’s
  •  You work well independently. You don't need to be managed - you manage yourself
  • You communicate clearly and on time. Retailers, suppliers and internal team will all rely on you
  • You will work closely with Co-Founder James

You're genuinely excited about Swifter - the brand, what we're building, and where we're going

The Set Up

  • 4-day working week. 5-day also can be looked at.
  • Mostly remote - work from wherever you're most productive. Output is priority no.1
  • Dublin-based - we meet in person once or twice a month
  • You'll be working directly with James (co-founder) from day one
  • This is hire number two - there is real room to grow into more senior roles as the business scales
  • Competitive salary discussed at interview stage (based on experience and expertise)

Why Join Swifter?

  • Career Defining Growth: You are joining at the inflection point. If you successfully contribute to Swifter's growth, you will have the opportunity to lead teams under you as we scale.

  • Career Autonomy: No red tape. If you bring new systems and ideas, we support you.

  • Lifestyle Flexibility: We care about output, not hours logged. Want to do your long run in the morning and work late or work abroad for a few weeks? No problem. As long as you complete the tasks you are required to, you own your schedule.

  • Compensation: We offer a market-competitive salary based on experience, plus extensive career progression opportunities as we grow.

How to Apply

Send an email to info@swifterstore.com with the subject line: Inventory Planning & Operations Manager Application

Include the following:

1.  Your CV

2.  Why would you like to join the Swifter® team specifically

3.  One example of a logistics, inventory or supply chain problem you've owned and solved, what the problem was, what you did, and what happened

4.  You've just joined a small ecommerce brand that has no documented inventory processes - everything lives in the founder's head. The brand sells across Amazon USA, UK and Australia, and its own website. One of its products sells an average of 30 units a day but spikes to 80 units a day in November and December. It's currently September. Production takes 6 weeks and sea freight takes 5 weeks.

In no more than 6 bullet points: where do you start building the inventory process, and as part of that - when do you place the Q4 order, how many units do you order, and what assumptions are you making?
